Piracy in Peru Documentary

Whilst researching piracy, most of the resources I found talked about piracy majorly in clothing and within European society. The other sources I got such as the book "Material, Culture and authenticity" helped me understand the dynamics and the reasons why people in Europe, however, I wanted to understand more the reasoning behind counterfeit culture in Peru and Latin America. I did a Google Forms with the Latinx Society in which people talked about their experiences with counterfeit culture in Latin America. Later on, I found this documentary that specifically talks about the topic I'm interested in which is piracy in films in Peru. It is very interesting how they show the reality of buying pirated films in Peru and the people that distribute them. After all of this, I realised how important these people are within Peruvian society, they democratise culture. Because of a lack of resources, pirated films are the only way in which people can access media and culture.
